Guide: Carrot for iPhone

👋 friend, we’re excited to share Carrot’s iPhone app with you. This guide will cover the basics of how to access the app, how to begin using it, and a few frequently asked questions.

We’re so grateful that you’re the earliest adopters of Carrot, and can’t wait for your feedback so we can make this the best it can be for the wider Community. Enjoy!

🔤 Getting Started

Download the Carrot Shopping app for iOS from the App Store.

👇 Enable One Tap Save

Once you’ve installed the app and logged in, let’s make sure Carrot will be easy to find!

  • Open your phone’s browser
  • Tap the share icon, the little square with an arrow right in the middle
  • Scroll right, allll the way over to “More …”
  • Tap Edit
  • Scroll to find Carrot, tap the green plus to add it to your favorites
  • Tap Done

Going forward, Carrot will be in the first 3-4 apps to share to!


🌐 Adding to Carrot from your mobile browser

To add an item to Carrot from your iOS browser...

  • Locate the item you’ve had your eye on
  • Tap on the “share” button in the browser
  • Scroll to find the Carrot app in the second row, tap it!
  • An “Adding to Carrot!” notification will appear confirming we’re saving your item
  • Finally, select a collection to add your item to, or create a new collection for it. You can also tap Skip to add the item directly to your Carrot.

🛍 Add to Carrot from your apps

To add an item to carrot from your favorite apps

You can add items to Carrot from any of your favorite apps, including Messages, Amazon, Instagram or wherever else you shop, browse, or look at products. Just follow the same steps as above — find the share icon, open the share sheet, and tap the carrot icon!


🤳 Creating a collection  

  • Tap “Create a Collection” in the upper left hand corner
  • Give your Collection a name
  • Tap done, you can scroll through all of your Collections in the top rail!

➕ To add an item to a Collection...

  • Locate the item in the “Saved Items” list
  • Tap the three dots on the right hand side of the item
  • Tap “Add to Collection”
  • Select the Collection you wish to add to
  • A “Added to Collection” notification will appear confirming the update
  • Tap on the Collection to see all of the items

🔓 How can I tell if a Collection is public or private?

  • Tap on a Collection
  • In the upper right hand corner there is a privacy toggle
  • When the toggle is to the left and grey, a Collection is public

    When the toggle is to the right and purple, a Collection is private


🗑️ How do I remove an item?

  • Locate the item in “Saved Items” you wish to remove
  • Tap the three dots on the right hand side of the item
  • Tap “Remove”
  • You’ll see it disappear!

Removed something on accident? You can always access removed items from the Carrot extension in browser.


⬆️ To share items with your contacts

  • Tap the three dots beside any item, click “manage item”, then hit “Share”
  • From your collections, tap the “Share” icon in the top right corner

Carrot will send your contacts a link to view your collections. Make sure your collections are set to Public before you share!
